History of Smiling Food Journal

It all started with a love of food

A lot of my spare time is spent visiting new restaurants, finding new street food to try as well as cooking and baking at home. I love to visualise what a meal might look like and I often sit pondering over a food menu. Photographs of food can really tempt me to visit a new location, or cause me to switch my meal choice completely.

I spent years taking photographs of food I have eaten. However, I soon realised, that no one saw or appreciated them. I want to share photos with others around the world of food which I have personally tried and tasted. This is so that you can experience the same thing I have. So with this in mind I decided to create The Smiling Food Journal.

What first started off as a food blog quickly escalated into food and travel. I realised that the two go hand in hand and really compliment each other. Whilst travelling around the UK or venturing abroad I spend a vast amount of time planning my trip away. However, the first thing I find myself doing is checking out the local delicacies and making endless lists of places to eat and explore.

I have travelled extensively across Europe, North America, Australia and Africa. This has resulted in an epic bucket list of destinations that I would like to visit in the future including both South America and Asia. I cannot wait to share my travel knowledge and experience with you all. My ultimate aim is to encourage more of you to travel, and of course eat.
